2023 is a wrap and according to the Calgary Real Estate Sales Statistics, it was a strong year indeed.
With over-the-top migration via Ontario & BC, we continue to be faced with low housing supply in both Calgary and Cochrane; the result of which is sales/pricing levels that are much higher than long-term trends and activity reported prior to the pandemic.
While the average sales price did slow from +12% in 2022 to nearly +6% in 2023, the persistently tight conditions have led to record high home pricing in both Calgary and Cochrane. With continued in-migration and anticipated mortgage rate decreases, experts forecast continued growth in the 2 respective centres.
